Usually rather popular things are thought to have no hidden meaning or rather good things are not popular enough. I`m going to take sometimes some of them for a discussion.
The Twelth - "Surrealism". Discussion of the "Mulholland Dr." movie.
I decided to write this until I haven`t read anything about the film...The most complicated thing I`ve ever seen.
At first we see a girl, who has just come to the city of her dreams... To tell the truth, not only her, but everybody`s who wants to become a well-known actor. She is exited, her soul is pure and looking forward something new...
The world is open, the future is clear... Seem to be.. Everything is trying to persuade the girl in that - the people she meets in airport, the house she`s living in, the great surroundings - and all that influece on her so much that she even doesn`t pay attention to the fact, that a stranger came to her house and taking shower, takes her as a friend, later - as a lover... But Hollywood isn`t so holly...

On the other hand, we see the dark, the real side of the city. A strange man is afrade of his dreams, that comes truth, another mercilessly kills tree people, than we see a scarry little man in a dark room, who probably is a director of the film company, but it seems that he plays a much bigger role than we can imagine... like he rules all the people.. like a devil.
Something like this room we also can see in Twin Peaks, and a man is also similar. Think, he really simbolyzes somebody out of an after death world, who has a great power.
In the theatre a presentator all the time tries to persuade us, that all that we hear there is illusion, after we recognise, that everything we see is also so. We can also see how strangely Betty reacts, like she didn`t knew that before, like it`s out of her nature and now she`s begining to change...
The strangest thing is that Betty suddenly turnes into Diane... Into a dirty thing, brutally killed after... Strange... But she really looks like her, Rita almost killed her moraly, Betty met her by chance, but she also could meet every other person like her - movie industry and the world is full of those ones. Look how she looks like now: She`s that Diane, Diane was just like her.
So we see a great psychological picture about humans nature and its secrets, like the story of "The picture of Dorian Grey". Quite clear instead of some aspects.

Well, now I`ve read about it, and I`m agree with the version, that the first part of the film is a dream of Diane, the way she wantes to be. Not "she was" because everything tells us that it`s illusion... Yeah, that probabably is the real version.
